My earliest memories as a child are being outside surrounded by nature; it was my happy place. When I had my daughter, I exposed her to the great outdoors early on, taking the time to smell the flowers and watch the ants move over the forest floor. When I decided to open Mountain Minis Childcare I wanted to provide a program that encouraged children to explore the environment and discover all that it has to offer. I have a Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services, a certification in Early Childhood Education and am continuing my education in the field of Early Childhood Education with workshops and courses that inspire me.
I believe that children learn best through hands on experiences, exposure to new ideas and places, and of course through their play! Thank you to everyone who has participated in Mountain Minis Childcare programs and for believing in me to make this dream come true!

Hi there – a little bit about me. My name is Mellany and I have made early childhood education my career for the past 13 years. Originally from Queensland, Australia I now call Whistler and Mountain Minis my home. In my down time, mountain biking and snowboarding are what I do for fun. I have always had a passion for working with children in the early years; they teach me something new every day. It is my personal philosophy that all children have the right to become confident, happy learners in a safe environment. I have the most important job in the world.

Hello, my name is Rotha. I am from Calgary, Alberta and have been in the early childhood education field for 6 years. Living in the mountains such as Whistler, BC has always been a dream of mine, because I see it as a playground that offers endless activities for every season. I love to learn new things, and working with children was, and still is a HUGE learning experience. I enjoy having conversations with children that help nurture kindness, fairness and being respectful and knowing how we feel and how we make others feel. Watching children grow and develop as they get older and forming their own personalities and identities is personally rewarding, which is why I absolutely love working with children during their early stages. Children have a natural sense of wonder and curiosity and I am so excited to be by their side at Mountain Minis and watch their tiny faces light up as they experience and learn new things!
